This site covers the part of Oakville south of the Queen Elizabeth Way, from Burloak Drive east to Winston Churchill Boulevard. Our neighbourhood areas are SouthOakville.ca's own editorial coverage areas, not Town of Oakville boundaries. The Town does not publish official neighbourhood boundaries. We describe each area by the roads, creeks and shoreline that bound it, and we publish the exact census areas behind every figure on our data page, so you can check our arithmetic rather than trust it.

    A working harbour that became a village, at the mouth of Bronte Creek at Oakville's western edge.

    The stretch between Bronte and Third Line, where post-war Oakville meets the lake.

    Oakville's south-eastern corner, planned as a unit in the 1980s and bounded by Ford Drive and the Mississauga line.

What is not on this list

Two kinds of name are missing on purpose. The first is areas north of the QEW — Glen Abbey, River Oaks, College Park, Falgarwood and the rest. They are Oakville, but they are not South Oakville, and College Park in particular sits almost entirely north of the highway despite often being lumped in.

The second is names without a place behind them. Eastlake is widely used and appears on our Morrison page as the local name it is, but the Town designates no such area. We would rather name it honestly inside a real page than mint a thin one to catch the search.
